Our History Continued

In 2006 we held the first Real People Doing Real Things Community Building Awards as a way to honour and celebrate the work of paid and unpaid community builders on the Coast. This event attracted interest from all corners of the Region and has become an annual Spring activity of the Congress. Congress has sought to build a culture of collaboration and good will since its beginnings with both in kind and financial contributions from Gosford City, Wyong Shire Councils and NSW State Government developing partnerships with the Central Coast Community Council (which acts as an auspice for the Congress), plus considerable in kind assistance from organisations across the Coast including the Central Coast Neighbourhood Centres Forum, Uniting Care Burnside, The Benevolent Society, the NSW Dept of Housing, TAFE NSW, Out of the Box, Frazer Howard and Partners.

Our 10th Anniversary was celebrated in 2010 and we are planning for the future and conducting a formal review of the progress and impact on the Community so far.
